This is a collaboration that will get all of Sandalwood abuzz.

Former screen siren Radhika Kumaraswamy has roped in actress Ramya as the lead for her maiden home production. The film, Lucky, will also star Yash in the lead role. Confirming the news to DNA.

Ramya says, “It’s Radhika’s first film production under her banner Samiksha Arts. It’s named after her daughter. We will begin shooting in August.”

Ramya points out, “We never got to work together on screen, but I am happy that I’ll finally get to work with Radhika. When I met her, I was amazed to see that she is in such fine shape, despite the fact that she is now a mother. In fact, if she got back to acting again, she would give all of us a run for our money,” says Ramya.

Throwing some light on the project, Ramya says, “This is a love story, which revolves around a boy, girl and a pug. A part of the film will be animated, therefore it’s a first for Kannada films.” The film will be directed by Dr Suri, who also happens to be a professional dentist. While Ramya plays Yash’s romantic interest, the pug, we hear, will be named Brandy, which happens to be the name of Ramya’s pet dog. Arjun will compose the music, while Krishna will be the cinematographer.

A section of the industry is considering Ramya to be quite the lucky charm — for having upped the success of films for the various young co-stars that she has been teaming up with. “I don’t know about that. But I consider myself very lucky to have got work periodically for almost a decade now,” retorts Ramya modestly.
