The 'Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj' finalist will debut with 'Bairi Piya'.

The finalist of the talent-show 'Zee Cinestars Ki Khoj', Mohit Daga, has signed a Bhojpuri film 'Bairi Piya' with actor Pakkhi. Incidentally Pakkhi also plays the title role in 'Miss India' (DD). The film is produced by Murtuza Hakim and Vivek Shankar and directed by Gyan Sahay.

While most newcomers would prefer a Hindi film debut, what prompted Mohit to opt for a Bhojpuri film? “It's directed by acclaimed cameraman Gyan Sahay who also shot my initial audition for the Zee contest. The film will be lavishly mounted like a Sooraj Barjatiya film. It has music by Amar Haldipur,” he answers. Mohit adds, “Apparently the film is similar to the Nutan-starrer 'Saraswati Chandra'.”

Though he plays a spiritually-inclined and a silent lover, Mohit explains, “That's deceptive because my character wages verbal battles with the villain who initially marries the heroine. There is also an aggressive monologue in a temple as in Amitabh Bachchan's 'Deewar'.”

Mohit has also signed Raj Sippy's comedy 'Khujli' opposite actor Loveleena. The fun-loving aspirant relates, “When the writer of 'Khujli' met me, he changed   my sober character to that of a naughty guy. The film gave me a chance to interact with seasoned comedians like Rajpal Yadav and Shakti Kapoor.”
