In photos: Benedict Cumberbatch shooting for 'Doctor Strange' in New York

Cumberbatch and Chiwetel Ejiofor were spotted filming a scene.

Here's a Sunday treat for all the Marvel fans! Benedict Cumberbatch in full costume as Doctor Strange. Cumberbatch was caught in action on April 2 shooting for the film in Manhattan, New York City. The 39-year-old actor was seen in a red cape with bruises all over.

Chiwetel Ejiofor, who plays the villainous Baron Mordo in the comic, was also spotted on scene. 

Several Twitter users snapped photos of the shoot in progress with one even managing to get a video of Cumberbatch and Ejiofor filming a scene.

Marvel's Doctor Strange tells the story of neurosurgeon-turned-sorcerer Stephen Strange, played by Cumberbatch. Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen will play the main villain in the film.

The film's cast also includes Tilda Swinton as Strange's mentor, the Ancient One, and Rachel McAdams in role yet to be revealed. The film is being directed by Scott Derrickson and is set for release on November 4, 2016.
