Goldie-Sonali take tradition forward!

The Bachchans — Amitabh and Jaya — have a long-standing relationship with the Behls, not just professionally but personally as well. Bachchan Sr had done several films with the late filmmaker Ramesh Behl, and even the next generation continues to be just as close.

Abhishek Bachchan has starred in both of the films directed by Goldie Behl. In fact, the friendship between the two families is well-known in industry circles. The two families are known to celebrate most festivals together and one of them happens to be karwa chauth.

For years now, the Behls had been hosting a dinner on karwa chauth with the Bachchans in attendance. And now Goldie is keeping the tradition alive, having hosted a dinner at his residence with wife, actor Sonali Bendre on Friday night. And post the puja at their own home, both Aishwarya and Abhishek attended the dinner.

Says a source, “Abhishek and Goldie are best friends and since Abhishek was away shooting for Dhoom 3 in Chicago for long, they hadn’t had the time to catch up. So, this dinner on karwa chauth was the perfect way to catch up. It’s like the young couples have been taking forward the tradition set by their parents.”
Aishwarya is known to observe the fast every year.

Reportedly, she and Abhishek had cut short their vacation once and had flown back after attending an awards event in the US just to be home in time for the celebration. Sonali too is known to observe the fast each year.
