Amitabh Bachchan to play Anna Hazare?

When actor Amitabh Bachchan lent his support to social activist Anna Hazare last year, little did he know that he would be portraying a character inspired by the senior crusader almost a year later.

While director Prakash Jha has reportedly admitted to his film Satyagraha — that stars Bachchan, as well as actress Kareena Kapoor — being inspired by Anna's movement, speculation was rife about the superstar portraying an Anna-like role in the film. But now an insider confirms that the buzz is indeed true.

"Bachchan's role is greatly inspired by Anna, and he will be seen playing a social activist like Anna, though the issues and ideologies may not be shown in the exact same light," says an industry source.
