Megastar Amitabh Bachchan has described as "strange", Maharashtra government's decision to increase the minimum age for drinking from 21 to 25 years.

"On drinking age limit increased to 25 ! Err .. old and mature enough to vote for the country, or join army ..and fight for the nation...but not old and mature enough to be told when you are allowed to drink ???? Strange ?!!!! (sic) .

"At 23, Sid Mallya is GM & owner of the 3rd largest liquor company in the world. But, guess what? It's illegal for him to drink," Bachchan wrote on his Twitter page.

"I do not drink, do not eat meat, or smoke ... but out of my own personal choice .. no one forced me to do it !!," he added.
