Big update on pending JEE Main 2021, NEET 2021 entrance exams - Get details here

As students waiting to for examination dates of the engineering entrance exam Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2021 and the medical entrance exam The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) (NEET), the Ministry of Education is yet to take a final decision as it is still in the process of reviewing the COVID-19 situation across states and UTs.

However, according to a report in news agency PTI, the Education Ministry is contemplating conducting pending editions of engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains in July and August while the medical entrance exam NEET can be shifted to September.

"The pending editions of JEE-Mains are likely to be conducted either at the end of July or August with a fortnight's gap between the two tests. NEET is likely to be pushed to September," a source said.

The Joint Entrance Exam (JEE) Mains is being conducted four times a year from this session onwards to offer flexibility to students and a chance to improve their scores. The first phase in February was followed by the second in March.

JEE Advanced, which is the entrance exam to the IITs, has been postponed.  Earlier, the exam was scheduled to be held on July 3 the revised dates are yet to be announced. 

Only those who appear in the top 2.5 lakh ranks of JEE Main are eligible for JEE Advanced. Thus, the IIT entrance can not be held till the JEE Main is completed.

The ministry is also yet to decide on the fate of the Central University Common Entrance Test (CUCET).

Earlier this month, the CBSE and the CISCE cancelled class 12 board exams in view of the pandemic and has announced a marks tabulation policy. Following their footsteps, several state boards also cancelled class 12 board exams.
