Meet doctor-turned-IPS officer who left AIIMS job to clear UPSC exam

In this article, we will talk about IPS Abhishek Pallava, doctor-turned-police officer. 

Pallava is an IPS officer of Chhattisgarh cadre. He is currently serving as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Durg, Chhattisgarh since April 2022, he is known for his anti-Naxal operations. In 2017, Pallava made headlines for saving the life of a Naxal whom he had shot during an operation. He was the additional SP of Bastar at the time.

He is a graduate of Delhi AIIMS with a postgraduate degree before becoming a police officer. IPS Pallav is a native of Bihar's Begusarai area. Pallava, a psychiatrist, obtained his MBBS at Goa University between 1999 and 2005. After that, he relocated to AIIMS Delhi to finish his MD, Psychiatry Residency Programme (2006-2009).

In 2012, he cleared the UPSC (Union Civil Services Examination) and was appointed an IPS. Rishi Kumar, Abhishek's father, served in the military. Pallava is wed to Dantewada physician Dr. Yasha Pallav. The couple's kid, Advik, is 10 years old.
