United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and his Akshata Murty were recently on a visit to India for the G20 Summit, and also ended up visiting several landmarks placed in Delhi including the iconic Akshardham Temple in the national capital.

UK PM Rishi Sunak was recently elected the prime minister, being the first Indian-origin PM of the UK. Sunak is also the son-in-law of Indian businessman Narayana Murthy, who founded the multi-crore tech company Infosys, making his daughter Akshata Murty the First Lady of UK.

Both Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty got are highly educated in their respective fields, and got married before Sunak decided to explore the world of politics. Here is all you need to know about the educational qualifications of the UK PM and his wife.

UK PM Rishi Sunak educational qualification

Rishi Sunak was born in Southampton, England in a Punjabi Sindhi family. He went was schooled at Winchester College and later graduated from the prestigious Lincoln College in Oxford in Philosophy, Politics and Economics. Later, he received an MBA degree from Stanford University.

After working as an investment banker for several years, he decided to join politics and was elected as an MP from Richmond, Yorkshire.

UK First Lady Akshata Murty educational qualifications

Akshata Murty is the daughter of Infosys founder Narayana Murthy and education pioneer Sudha Murty. Akshata completed her schooling from Bangalore, Karnataka from Baldwin Girls High School. She later went to California’s Claremont McKenna college to study economics and French.

Akshata Murty later decided to pursue a degree in clothes manufacturing from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising and then did her MBA from Stanford University, same place as Rishi Sunak.

Both Rishi Sunak and Akshata Murty, despite being citizens of the UK, have stayed in touch with their Indian roots, celebrating several Hindu festivals in their official Prime Ministerial residence.
