Who is IAS Shubham Kumar?

Shubham Kumar is a native of Bihar, and his mother is housewife and father is a manager at a bank. In his village, Shubham Kumar finished his elementary education. He then completed his high school education at Vidya Vihar Residential School. He then relocated to Jharkhand to finish his senior year of high school at Chinmaya Vidyalaya.

At IIT Mumbai, Shubham Kumar obtained a BTech in civil engineering. Before quitting his job as a researcher in order to pursue his ambition to serve as an IAS officer, he spent about two years working there.

Bagged AIR 1

Shubham topped the IAS in his third attempt. Shubham passed the exam on his previous attempt in 2019, earning a rank of 290. His initial attempt in 2018 was a failure, though. He was receiving training at the National Academy of Defence Financial Management Institute in Pune when he made his third attempt in 2020.

Shubham Kumar, the 2020 UPSC Topper, chose Anthropology as an elective subject and studied incredibly hard to earn the top spot in the entire nation.

IAS Shubham Kumar’s preparation strategy

The significance of careful planning was emphasised by Shubham Kumar. He emphasised the necessity of relying less on coaching sessions and more on independent study. IAS Shubham Kumar also emphasised the importance of time management and utilising each and every second of the day.
