The 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang raped by three men in a moving car when she had gone to relieve herself in the Dankaur area of Greater Noida on August 27.
One more person has been arrested on Tuesday for allegedly kidnapping and raping a class 9 girl in a moving car in the Gautam Budh Nagar district, the police said.
The 14-year-old girl was allegedly abducted and gang raped by three men in a moving car when she had gone to relieve herself in the Dankaur area of Greater Noida on August 27. Two accused were arrested on the same day. She was later dumped her near the village, according to the police.
"On a tip-off, 19-year-old Monu, the third accused, was held from his house in Astauli village of Dankaur area this morning. He was absconding since the day of the crime," Station House Officer (SHO) at Dankaur Police Station Farmood Ali Pundir said.
Around 7 am, the girl was dragged into a car. Two out of the three allegedly took turns and raped her while the third kept on driving the car. Later at around 9:30 am, they dumped the girl near the village and fled. Monu was driving the hatchback car in which his friends and main accused Ajay Singh Gujjar and Surendra Singh Gujjar allegedly raped the minor, the police officer said.
The police said that the victim had somehow managed to return home and had narrated the incident to her parents. Subsequently, the parents took up the matter with the police.
Ajay and Surendra have been charged under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including section 367 (kidnapping) and 376 (rape). Monu has not been charged for rape but for his complicity in the crime, he said.
The three accused have also been charged under relevant sections of the Prevention of Children against Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The car used in the crime belonged to Monu's father, the police officer said, adding that the car was seized. Monu has been sent to judicial custody, he said.
