The portal aims at giving online training and information through specialised courses available online which have been designed by experts in various fields.
In order to impart training and provide up to date information to police officers, the Delhi Police has launched an e-learning portal, 'Nipun'. The Commissioner of Police, Delhi Amulya Patnaik launched the e-Learning portal on Wednesday. The initiative will aim at imparting in-service training to police personnel.
The portal aims at giving online training and information through specialised courses available online which have been designed by experts in various fields. "With online resource like law, standing orders, investigation checklists, forms for case files, latest High Court and Supreme Court rulings being made available online, it is envisioned that the Investigating Officers will be able to take the benefit of this information during the course of their duty or while handling a case," said Suman Nalwa, DCP, Training.
With the launch of the portal, the officers can now access information by just logging on the portal. The fact that the course can be taken from anywhere at anytime makes it easier for the police officer to upgrade their skills and re-enforce their learning while balancing training time along with their daily routine work. Based on the feedback and training needs the courses will be tailored to meet the needs of our Investigating Officers (IO's) and others.
The courses are in collaboration with University Grant Commission (UGC), FICCI, NHRC, NCPCR and Janaki Devi Memorial College, Delhi University under the project CLAP "The Collaborative Learning and Partnership". Further, the Delhi Legal Service Authority has also consented to be a partner in developing specific courses for the Delhi Police.
