The Delhi unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will approach the Union Home Ministry, seeking a probe into the recent visit of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to Dubai, the party said. The BJP has trained guns at the CM earlier too, alleging that he travelled to Dubai with a "hidden agenda".

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) had, meanwhile, dismissed the charge as "outlandish".

Delhi BJP spokesperson Harish Khurana said, "I will soon write a letter to Home Minister Rajnath Singh for an investigation into Kejriwal's Dubai visit." Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari too questioned Kejriwal's silence on his Dubai trip.

"Why is the chief minister, who tweets details about his visit to a cinema in Delhi, his illness or treatment in Bangalore, not answering the questions on this tour?" Tiwari asked in a statement.

AAP spokesperson Raghav Chadha had earlier said the CM had gone "abroad" to attend a family function of his IIT batchmate.

The BJP has been persistent in its attack on Kejriwal for his Dubai visit on November 8. While Tiwari tweeted about the trip, criticising him for leaving the city at a time when Delhi was reeling under severe air pollution crisis, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta alleged that the information about the visit has been "hidden" as there is something wrong. "Why is Aam Aadmi Party in denial mode about Kejriwal visit? The silence of Aam Aadmi Party about his trip proves that there is something wrong. It is clear that there is a hidden agenda behind this visit," the BJP leader alleged.

"This trip is not being called official visit or a family trip. What is the purpose of this visit, what is the agenda, where will he be staying and whom will he meet? Why is all this information being kept hidden?" Gupta asked.
