The court asked all the accused to file their response on the plea by August 6, the next hearing.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleged on Friday that some of the accused in the 2G spectrum allocation case were adopting "delay tactics" saying they had not received any notice from the High Court.
Both the CBI and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) have filed appeals in the Delhi High Court challenging a Special CBI Court verdict on December 21, 2017, acquitting all the accused, including former telecom minister A Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi, in the case.
Additional Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told Justice SP Garg that the irregularities in the allocation of spectrum had caused huge losses to the exchequer and the case was a shame to the nation. The court asked all the accused to file their response on the plea by August 6, the next hearing.
Both agencies contended that the special Court did not appreciate the evidence establishing the alleged irregularities in the 2G spectrum allocation process.
