England lost their final group stage game against South Africa by just 10 runs, however, the big reason for their worry would be Jason Roy, who was in agonising pain after cramping his calf while taking a run and the struggle he was in to walk off the field after retiring hurt in the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Roy was seemingly distraught and was in tears when the physio was attending him after he sustained the injury as it looked really painful from the outside.

The incident happened on the first ball of the fifth over of England's batting innings bowled by left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj when while taking a run, Roy just suffered a cramp and wasn't able to stand. Jos Buttler had a worried look on his face while physio ran out.

The physio and Tom Curran escorted him off the field as he wasn't able to place his left foot on the ground. Roy may have inferred that the pain that he was in, might have meant that his tournament might be over as he failed to keep his emotions intact and broke down.

Roy after being in the dugout got teary-eyed again and he likely to miss the rest of the tournament. He went for the scans Sunday evening and a call will be taken on his participation after the results of the scan. Roy added his name to the unending injury list for England as Sam Curran, Ben Stokes and Jofra Archer weren't available for the tournament itself, Mark Wood came back after recovering from an injury while Tymal Mills was ruled out due to a thigh injury.

The match ended up resulting in a heartbreak for South Africa as despite beating England and winning four out of the five games they played in the group stage, they failed to qualify for the semi-finals because of a lesser NRR.

Rassie vana der Dussen and Aiden Markram's unbeaten 103-run stand helped the Proteas post a massive total of 189 runs on the board and Kagiso Rabada's redemption after going for three sixes in an over, taking a hat-trick meant they defended the total.
