Pakistan's captain, Babar Azam, demonstrated his exceptional skills when he entered the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup warm-up game against Australia at No.6. The 28-year-old's innings completely transformed the game, showcasing Pakistan's formidable batting strength against the Australian team.

Azam's remarkable performance saw him score a scintillating 90 runs off just 59 balls, including 11 fours and two sixes. His outstanding display completely altered the course of the match, which had a target of 352 runs.

However, what truly captured the admiration of fans and cricket enthusiasts was Azam's selfless act. Despite being just 10 runs away from a well-deserved century, he chose to retire himself out, allowing Salman Ali Agha to take the crease alongside Mohammad Nawaz.

For those unfamiliar, warm-up games are not recorded as official matches. In these games, most teams rotate their players to gain practice and familiarize themselves with the conditions. Consequently, centuries, fifers, or hat-tricks achieved in warm-up games do not hold any significance.

Earlier, the Australian batters exhibited no mercy towards the Pakistani pacers during their innings, resulting in an astounding total of 351 runs in 50 overs.

Glenn Maxwell showcased an exceptional performance, delivering a fine knock by scoring 77 runs off 71 balls. His remarkable display included ten boundaries that were scattered all over the ground. Following Maxwell's lead, Josh Inglis contributed significantly to the Australian team's acceleration in the final 10 overs, scoring an impressive 48 runs off just 30 balls, boasting a striking 160 strike rate.

In the end, Pakistan succumbed to a total of 337 runs, ultimately granting Australia a well-deserved victory. However, both teams can take pride in the exceptional performances of their batsmen, setting a promising tone as they approach the upcoming showpiece tournament, scheduled to commence on Thursday.
