Making a hattrick of Indian captains in the ICC Teams of the Decade, current Indian skipper across all formats, Virat Kohli has been named the captain of the Test team of the Decade.

Kohli, who averages 53.42 in the 87 games he has played in the longest format of this game in this decade leads a side, which features some of the stalwarts of the game of the modern genration.

The team's openers are the two outstanding left-handers of the game Sir Alastair Cook and David Warner. Cook, who is England's highest scorer in Tests with 12,472 runs has been one of the most prolific run-scorers in Test cricket.

And the middle-order is the most fearsome of them all. With Kane Wiiliamson, Virat Kohli and Steve Smith at No 3, 4 and 5, the team has three players of the Fab 4 (which includes Joe Root as well) who have ruled the batting charts in this format in the last few years especially. Along with them is Sri Lanka's wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara.

Although Ross Taylor might be a big miss in this XI but one can not leave any of these six from the XI.

Following the six are the best all-rounder in the World Ben Stokes, followed by India's off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin. While, pace bowling department consists of James Anderson, Stuart Broad and Dale Steyn. The ones who have 600-plus, 500-plus and 400-plus wickets in Test match cricket respectively.
