Team India skipper Mithali Raj achieved 20,000 international runs in women's cricket on Tuesday during her knock of 63 runs against Australia in the first ODI at the Great Barrier Reef Arena in Mackay. Mithali and Yastika Bhatia stitched a 77-run partnership for the third wicket as they helped Indian team to get to a score of 225/8 in their 50 overs.

However, the total wasn't enough in the end as Rachael Haynes' unbeaten knock of 93 runs and wicket-keeper batter Alyssa Healy's fabulous innings of 77 runs helped the home side overhaul the score in just 41 overs as the Australian team won the game by nine wickets.

Mithali is already the highest run-getter in women's cricket across formats as she achieved the feat earlier this year.

Bollywood actor, Taapsee Pannu, who is all set to play Mithali's role in her biopic, 'Shabaash Mithu' directed by Srijit Mukherji and produced by Viacom18 Studios, took to Twitter to congratulate the legend for yet another record. "The run machine," followed by clapping emojis, Taapsee wrote.

Taapsee started her preparation for the role earlier in April this year and the shooting for the film started earlier this month. Taapsee has been training under former India cricketer Nooshin Al Khadeer and current coach for Railways for the film.
