‘Studious, hardworking boy has achieved his goal,’ says Satya Nadella's dad

Satya Nadella’s father BN Yugandar, a former IAS officer and former Planning Commission member,  continues to avoid media who have been seeking his reactions. “I am happy (at Satya’s appointment),” he said. “He is a very studious and hardworking boy, and has achieved his goal.”

Microsoft set up its first development centre outside its Redmond Hills headquarters in Hyderabad, Satya’s home town. The Nadella family, belonging to the Brahmin community, hails from the Bukkapuram village, Anantapur district, Rayalaseema region, Andhra Pradesh. His parents now live in a housing society flat at the posh Banjara Hills enclave in Hyderabad.

A few months ago, Satya had said the “laidback culture” of Hyderabad had influenced him to think over things and achieve in his career.

Satya is married and has three children. The family resides in Washington state.
