Everyone in life aims to scale new heights by their hard work and determination. There is one Indian man who actually took it seriously by reaching new heights despite having humble beginnings full of adversities.

We are talking about George V Nereamparambil, a man who once worked as a mechanic but is now among the biggest property owner at the iconic Burj Khalifa- the World’s tallest building in Dubai, which is an epitome of luxury and success.

Around 150 apartments of the 900 in Burj Khalifa are owned by Indians. And George is reportedly the biggest property owner of Burj Khalifa as he boasts of 22 such luxury flats.

George belongs to Kerala to a family which battled huge financial constraints. To aid his family’s situation, he began working at 11, with his father by helping him in transporting and trading cash crops. He also did a side business, making money from waste. "People in my hometown used to trade cotton, but they'd throw away the cotton seeds. Not many people knew at that time that you could make gum from those seeds. I often made a "90% profit selling them on", he said. Thereafter, he also worked as a mechanic.

His life transformed completely when in 1976 he shifted to Sharjah. He identified a massive opportunity in the air conditioning industry to cater for the desert heat, amid the booming Middle Eastern economy.

He gradually transformed the mere business idea into a massive company today known as GEO Group of Companies, and became one of the most prominent Indian business tycoons in the Gulf region.

George was intrigued in buying the expensive properties of Burj Khalifa when a relative teased him by saying that he couldn’t enter the Burj Khalifa. Thereafter, he took the challenge and rented an apartment in the iconic building in 2010. He later went on to own about 22 luxury apartments in Burj Khalifa over the years. His apartments’ walls, ceilings and floors are fully embellished with gold to exude luxury. And he is still not satisfied and aspires to buy more such luxury flats in Burj Khalifa. His total assets are now worth Rs. 4800 crores.

“Am not stopping at 22 and will continue to buy more if I get a "good deal". I am a dreamer and I never stop dreaming”, he stated.
