Anirudh Devgan is a distinguished computer scientist and alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi. Anirudh Devgan, as of now, is the CEO of software giant Cadence Design Systems, which has a market cap of over Rs 5,17,000 crore ($62.14 billion).  

Anirudh Devgan was raised inside the IIT campus where his father worked as a professor but Anirudh Devgan decided that he wanted to join and conquer the corporate world. 

Anirudh Devgan did his schooling at Delhi Public School (DPS) and then pursued electrical engineering at IIT Delhi. Anirudh Devgan then left India for the US where he did a master's and PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.

As for his professional life, Anirudh Devgan started with the legendary IT company IBM. After over a decade working in various IBM divisions in research and management, Anirudh Devgan had a 6-year stint at Magma Design Automation. 

Anirudh Devgan then climbed at Cadence to become President in 2017 and was eventually elevated to the board of directors and CEO post in December 2021. Silicon Valley-based Anirudh Devgan joined the likes of Microsoft’s Satya Nadella, Google’s Sundar Pichai, Arista’s Jayshree Ullal, and IBM’s Arvind Krishna as an Indian CEO of an American tech giant. 

When Anirudh Devgan became CEO, he was awarded a base Salary of $725,000 with a Target Bonus of 125% of the base salary. He was further given a promotion grant stock option of a value equal to $15 million. In 2021, Anirudh Devgan also won the prestigious Phil Kaufman Award.

As per media reports, his annual salary as the President and CEO of Cadence in 2022 was Rs 2,201 crore (approx $264 million).
