Infosys makes 20,000 campus recuitments in 2016-17

Software giant Infosys has offered a whopping 20,000 jobs at various college and institute campuses across the country, revealed by a senior executive, according to India Today.

"We have made 20,000 campus offerings by conducting interviews at various institutes to hire freshers for this fiscal and ramp up our headcount," chief operating officer UB Pravin Rao told reporters according to IANS.

Rao added, "We have taken a number of steps to make Infosys an exciting place for the world's best talent. We continue to re-imagine our internal processes to increase organisational agility."

"Our attrition level has declined to 17.3% in Q4 from 18.1% in third quarter and 18.3% year ago," Rao said.

Infosys on Friday posted a16.2% growth in consolidated net profit at Rs 3,597 crore for the quarter ending March 31, 2016. 

Post that the company gave wage hikes of  6-12% to its employees in India and of about 2% to onsite workers.

The city-based firm, which posted better-than-expected results in the January-March 2016 quarter, said it is also looking at offering equity to incentivise top performers.

In the fourth quarter, Infosys gave out 2,147 promotions and 8,900 in total in FY16 for employees below managerial level.

The company is also looking at introducing equity, which will be launched during the quarter and will be announced in due course.
