The world came to a standstill today as Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli announced the arrival of their baby girl. Virat himself took to his social media accounts to share a note in English as well as Hindi to share the happy news with fans.

However, the announcement also started a meme fest on Twitter as Kareena Kapoor Khan and Saif Ali Khan's son Taimur Ali Khan started trending.

People compared Virushka's baby's immense popularity with Taimur.

Many also posted hilarious memes, all in good faith, about Taimur's apparent reaction to Anushka and Virat's daughter.

Twitter users also encouraged the scenario of Virushka's newborn dating popular celeb kid Taimur.

As for the announcement, in a long note, Virat wrote, "We are thrilled to share with you that we have been blessed with a baby girl this afternoon. We thank you all for your love, prayers and good wishes. Anushka and the baby are both healthy and we are feeling beyond blessed to start this new chapter of our lives. We hope that you can respect our privacy at this time. Love, Virat."

Virat Kohli, the captain of India's cricket team, was granted paternity leave by the Board of Cricket Control in India or BCCI and flew home from Australia towards the end of December after playing the first of a four-match Test series. In his absence, the team is being captained by Ajinkya Rahane.

Recently, in an interview with Vogue India, Anushka also spoke about raising a child under the media spotlight and engage the baby on social media. Maintaining that both Virat and she would like to retain normalcy and privacy, Anushka averred, "We’ve thought about it a lot. We definitely do not want to raise a child in the public eye—we don't plan on engaging our child in social media. I think it's a decision your child should be able to take. No kid should be made to be more special than the other. It's hard enough for adults to deal with it. It's going to be difficult, but we intend to follow through."
