Asian Games 2018: Mhaari chhoriyan chhoron se kam hai ke, Aamir Khan praises Vinesh Phogat

Aamir Khan played the role of former wrestler and coach Mahavir Phogat in bollywood's blockbuster Dangal that hit the screens in 2017. The film was purely based on the 'Phogat family', narrating the story of Mahavir, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India's first world-class female wrestlers.

Aamir Khan played the role of former wrestler and coach Mahavir Phogat in bollywood's blockbuster Dangal that hit the screens in 2017. The film was purely based on the 'Phogat family', narrating the story of Mahavir, an amateur wrestler, who trains his daughters Geeta Phogat and Babita Kumari to become India's first world-class female wrestlers.

Mahavir's younger brother, Rajpal's daughter Vinesh also went on to follow her cousins, Geeta and Babita's footsteps of becoming a professional wrestler. 

Making India proud, wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Monday bagged a gold medal in women's 50 kg freestyle wrestling category at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games.

Prasing and acknowledging her feat, Aamir Khan getting in the shoes of Mahavir again, tweeted, "Congratulations Vinesh for winning the Gold in the Asian Games. We are all so proud of you. 
Love, Aamir and the team of Dangal. Mhaari chhoriyan chhoron se kam hai ke!"

 

 

The 23-year-old thrashed her Japanese opponent Yuki Irie 6-2 to give India their second gold of the tournament.

Earlier, the Indian wrestler had defeated Dauletbike Yakhshimuratova of Uzbekistan 10-0 with a technical superiority in the semi-final clash of the event.

Meanwhile, Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik lost her bronze medal bout 2-12 against Rim jong sim of Korea in women?s 62 kg freestyle wrestling category.

Another Indian wrestler, Pooja Dhanda, also conceded a 1-6 defeat to Japanese wrestler Katsugi Sakagami to deprive India of another bronze medal in the tournament.

Earlier in the day, Indian shooter Deepak Kumar had bagged a silver medal in the 10m Air Rifle event with a score of 247.7 points.

Yersterday, Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia had clinched first gold medal for the country after thrashing Japanese Daichi Takatani 11-8 in Men's 65kg freestyle event.

Shooter Ravi Kumar had opened India's medal tally at the Asian Games on Sunday by clinching a bronze medal in the 10m Air Rifle Mixed Team event along with Apurvi Chandela.

India's total medal tally stands at five with two golds, two silvers and one bronze.
