Laundry man murdered by rival

A 26-year-old man, Hridaylal Baburam Kanojiya, was allegedly murdered by his two neighbours in night hours of December 10 when the victim was inside his shop around 10.30pm. The two accused were arrested by the police.

According to his wife, in past both the accused had come to the shop and had threatened the victim to charge the same amount for the laundry as they charge. Kanojiya disagreed, but he was abused and slapped, but he continued to charge the same amount. According to the police, when the victim was closing the shop on Wednesday night, the duo came and started hitting him with sharp object, kanojiya succumbed to the injuries. The next day his wife lodged a complaint with the Tilaknagar police station against the two accused.

According to the police, the victim had the same business, but charged less amount for ironing clothes and thus had wide custmoer base.

A police official from Tilkanagar police station said, "In past also the accused and victim had many arguments over money problems. Through the locals, we came to know that the victim was even beaten up to charge less amount and we are investigating on it too." Both the accused, Acchelal Lalchand Kanojiya, 31, a resident of P Chaudhary chawl and Sanjay Rambhau Sonawane, 41, a resident of Kachore road were arrested and were produced in court. They are now under six days of police custody.

A case under section 302 (Punishment for murder) of the 34 of the Indian Penal Code.

Both the accused have been arrested the next day in late night.
