Who is Premoday Khakha, Delhi senior officer accused of raping friend's daughter?

The senior officer at the Delhi government's Women and Child Development department, Premoday Khakha has been arrested for being accused of raping and impregnating his deceased friend's minor daughter. 

As per reports, Khakha raped the minor girl repeatedly between November 2020 to January 2021. To make things worse, his wife reportedly gave the minor girl abortion pills after she came to know of the brutality. Khakha has been booked under Juvenile Justice Act and the POSCO Act for raping a minor. 

Who is Premoday Khakha?

Premoday Khakha was a senior officer at the Delhi government's Women and Child Development Department. He was also the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) when Kailash Gahlot was the head of the department. When Atishi took over, he was removed from the post. 

Reportedly, Khakha also worked on implementing the Integrated Child Protection and Integrated Child Development Schemes of the government. 

According to his LinkedIn profile, he was also a member of the drafting committee for the JJ (CPC) Rules 2016. He was also in charge of the government Observation Home for Boys-2. At the time of his arrest, he was the deputy director (Litigation & ICDS).

According to his LinkedIn profile, He holds a Master's degree in Social Work from Delhi University. After this, he served as a Medical Social Service Officer at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
