A day after the NGT granted conditional access to Vedanta to Sterlite Copper plant at Thoothukudi, DMK's Rajya Sabha MP Kanimozhi on Friday hit out at the E Palaniswami government for the present development. She alleged senior counsel CS Vaidhyanathan, representing the government, who should have prepared adequately to defend the closure order was busy justifying the denial of burial space for her late father and party chief M Karunanidhi at Marina.

In a series of tweets, she wrote, "Vedanta approached the NGT against this order and senior counsel CS Vaidhyanathan represented TN govt. Counsel for TN govt should have prepared adequately to defend the TN govt order of closure. But, the briefing & discussion on yesterday's hearing was done only at 10 am yesterday."
