RJD Leader shot dead by 2 assailants on motorcycle

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Raghuvar Rai was shot dead on Thursday by unidentified assailants outside his residence in Kalyanpur, Samastipur district, Bihar. 

After being shot by two men on a motorcycle when he was out on morning walk near his home, Rai was admitted to a private hospital in Darbhanga for medical treatment.

However, Rai has succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital in Darbhanga.

Angry over the killing hundreds of his supporters blocked Samastipur-Darbhanga road, burned tyres demanding the arrest of the assailants.

Mr. Rai was a former Zila Parishad member.
