With demands for action after Karni Sena members stoned a schoolbus with small children inside, the Gurugram police have detained Karni Sena leader Thakur Kushalpal in connection with incidents of violence across the city. The move comes a day after the national secretary of the Karni Sena Suraj Pal Amu was arrested on charges of violence while protesting the release of ‘Padmaavat.’

In a press statement, Gurugram Police Public Relations Officer Ravinder had said on Friday that seven cases have been registered in various police stations of Gurugram so far. “During the course of investigation, we have
arrested 24 miscreants who were involved in violent incidents which occurred at different places. All accused have been sent to judicial custody. Besides 14 persons were detained under section 107/ 151 CrPC as a preventive

The Shree Rajput Karni Sena has welcomed Censor Board chief Prasoon Joshi's decision not to attend the Zee Jaipur Literature Festival, saying that he was “repenting” for his “mistake” for “hurting the sentiments of Rajputs.”
Joshi who was scheduled to participate in a session said in a statement. “I am doing this so that there is no compromise with the dignity of this function nor any organizers, fellow writers and others involved have any
