As Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at the Red Fort on the morning of August 15, delivering his annual Independence Day speech, his impeccable look and traditional turban for I-Day 2023 became the talk of the town, just like every year.

Just like every year, PM Modi showed up at the Red Fort in a vibrant and multicoloured turban along with his standard formal attire. PM Modi’s turban for the 77th Independence Day was designed by local craftsmen and holds unique value.

On Independence Day 2023, PM Modi wore a bright yellow and red Rajasthan turban, which was exclusively handmaid by multiple craftsmen. The Rajasthani-style turban had an intricate print, most likely done using the block painting technique.

The long tail and multicoloured Rajasthani turban worn by PM Modi was paired with his off-white kurta, white pants, and a jacket with a pocket square, adding a pop of colour to his overall outfit. PM Modi is known for wearing bright and multicoloured turbans on Independence Day and Republic Day celebrations.

PM Modi wore a Rajasthani Bandhani style turban on the 77th Independence Day celebrations on the Red Fort, pairing it with his Nehru jacket. The turban has a long flowing tail, and has undertones of the Ashok Chakra in the middle, subtly put to instill pride in the country.

The turban has been designed by craftsmen from Rajasthan itself and has different aspects of the national flag. PM Modi, over the last 10 years, has always had his Independence Day turbans designed by local craftsmen to promote their art and spread their culture across India.

This unique and vibrant Rajasthani turban worn by PM Modi during his Independence Day 2023 speech is nothing short of beautiful and has been designed keeping in mind the aspect of nationalism and the Indian tricolor.

Last year, during his Independence Day 2022 address from the Red Fort, PM Modi wore an off-white turban with orange and green stripes across the cloth, along with the white churidar and white coty to show his patriotism.
