REVEALED: Sidharth Malhotra signs his next

While actors like Varun Dhawan (Judwaa 2)  and Ranveer Singh (Padmavati) have not announced any film for 2017 apart from the ones they are shooting for, Sidharth Malhotra has three films lined up for the next eight months — Reload in August, the Ittefaq remake towards 2017-end and Aiyaary in January 2018. And now, he’s finalised another film for next year.

Says a reliable source, “Raj Kumar Gupta has been preparing a script —  a thriller — for over a year now. Now that the script is ready, he has approached Sid, who has liked the story and is keen on doing the film. His team is working out the dates for the film.”

The thriller will be based on a series of real-life events and is expected to begin by the year-end, once Sid finishes Neeraj Pandey’s Aiyaary. This film will be his second film inspired by true incidents just like Pandey’s film.

Raj had earlier announced Section 84 with Kareena Kapoor Khan, but after she walked out of the project, he has put the film on hold. Is there a possibility that his next project is the same film, albeit from a male protagonist’s point of view? Our source rubbishes the news. “Raj is not making Section 84 anymore. That remains on hold until another director picks the story up from its writer. This is a thriller with a national and patriotic angle to it.”
