We have a machine for almost everything nowadays. Moreover, we all are so busy in our fast-paced lives that we don’t give ourselves enough time. I feel some form of exercise is a must — whether its gymming or yoga or running or cycling or even dancing. I make sure I eat right, sleep well and workout regularly to keep myself physically and mentally fit.

When I am asked if I have always been fit, I tell people that I have always been lean but being thin or lean isn’t being fit. And this is something I realised after I started modelling and then acting and hence started watching what I ate and started exercising regularly.

Fitness is...
Fitness, to me, includes good stamina, strength, immunity, having the right body composition and good health. I keep fit by sticking to my fitness regime every day in the gym. I do a combination of weight training and pilates. Pilates is something I have recently started and I must say I love it. While I am not into any alternate sport-based activity, I recently started swimming and I really enjoy it. It’s refreshing and works out your entire body. 
The three essential principles of fitness that I always follow are: Watch what you eat specially post 7 pm. Always keep yourself hydrated. Understand your body and choose the type of workout that suits your body type.

Love yourself
We sometimes relate being fit to being muscular, which isn’t true. It is as important for women to take care of their health, mind and body as it is for men. I would just advise all women to love themselves and take out time for themselves. Being fit makes you stronger and more confident. 

I did it, once
I ran a marathon once when I was in school. I know about the dna iCan Women’s Half Marathon and I think it is a very good initiative to empower women and celebrate the spirit of achievement.

Celebrate everyday
Men can help to celebrate Women’s Day by not giving only one out of 365 days to women. I love being a woman and I’d like to celebrate that every day of my life.
