DC released its latest animated film, Justice League War on January 21 but didn't waste any time announcing its next project. For comic book fans, this one's a real winner, finally introducing Damian Wayne into the DC animated universe.

Damian Wayne shocked the status quo of the Batman universe as the legitimate heir to the Wayne fortune and the obvious successor (even more so than Dick Grayson) to the mantle of the Bat. Damian has been a consistent character (until recently) in the DC comics as Batman's Robin, serving for a time under Grayson as well as Bruce Wayne.

The story will be based on the 2006 Grant Morrison story arc in which Batman finds out that he indeed has a son with Talia Al Ghul, who is now being raised by the League Of Assassins.

Jason O'Mara will return as the voice of Batman/Bruce Wayne while supporting cast consists of Stuart Allan as Damian, Morena Baccarin as Talia, Giancarlo Esposito as Ra's Al Ghul, David McCallum as Alfred Pennyworth; Xander Berkeley as Kirk Langstrom (aka Man-Bat) and Thomas Gibson as Deathstroke.

Son of Batman comes out late this spring on DVD, Blu-ray and for digital download. The movie will have its world premiere at WonderCon over Easter weekend in Anaheim, Calif.
