An upbeat Sanjjanna talks about her films with superstars Ravichandran and Mohanlal.
It is a season of releases for actress Sanjjanaa. Soon after the release of Kannada film Ko Ko, in which she danced to a special number, the actor is getting ready for her big Malayalam debut Casanovva. “I am cast opposite Mohanlal and play a salsa dancer. I trained for three months for this role. During the shoot, I got to work with five A-list choreographers, including Ganesh Acharya, which further helped me better my moves,” she says.
Sanjjanna is particularly looking forward to the release. “Casanovva will hit the screens on January 26, which also happens to be my mother’s birthday. So it’s going to be double celebrations for me this year,” she says. The film is made on a whopping budget of Rs 20 crore. It has been shot in New Zealand, Dubai and Bangkok. “Casanovva has not only taken me a step higher as an actor, but also given me the opportunity to work with the likes of director Rosshan Andrrews and actor Mohanlal. Lal sir is very down to earth. It is his simplicity coupled with acting abilities that have brought him this far,” says Sanjjanaa.
The actress has other Malayalam films including one opposite Mammootty lined up, but after Casanovva, it is her Kannada film Narasimha that is slated for release. “On February 3, Ravichandran-starrer Narasimha will release. In this film I play Laila, a stage performer. You will find my dancing skills to have improved in this flick. This year I have resolved to become a perfectionist. What ever I do, I want to give it my 100 percent. So, when it comes to dance I have aimed at a Madhuri Dixit kind of performance,” she adds.
