According to police, the girl is the youngest of four siblings
The Gurugram police on Thursday arrested a man for allegedly raping his 12-year-old daughter for the past seven years.
"The matter came to light when the girl revealed that she was being abused to her teacher at a government school. This revelation came after she was counselled about good and bad touch. The school, however, did not inform the police about it," said Pratibha Maheshwari, who runs a NGO and helped file a case against the girl's father.
A case of rape was registered against the accused at Bajghera police station. According to police, the girl is the youngest of four siblings.
"An FIR under sections 376 (rape), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC and Section 4 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act has been registered against the father on Wednesday," a senior police official said.
"The accused has confessed his guilt and will be produced in a court on Thursday ," the officer added.
