With the Asia Cup 2023 clash between India and Pakistan set to take place today, September 10, in the evening, the playing XI order for Rohit Sharma’s squad still remains undecided as the KL Rahul vs Ishan Kishan debate continues.

As KL Rahul has made a comeback after his injury, set to rejoin skipper Rohit Sharma’s squad ahead of the India vs Pakistan clash, the youngest Ishan Kishan has made a stellar case for himself, who delivered an amazing performance in the last IND vs PAK match.

Ishan Kishan shone bright in the previous matches of Asia Cup 2023, with him rescuing India at the number 5 position in the batting order in a partnership with Hardik Pandya at 66 for 4, remaining in form throughout the tournament.

KL Rahul, however, has been struggling with an injury over the last few matches and was ruled out of the initial games of the Asia Cup 2023. The dilemma between KL Rahul and Ishan Kishan for the 5th spot in the batting order continues, with Rohit Sharma’s squad preparing to face Pakistan’s lethal bowling once again.

Ishan Kishan has scored four consecutive half-centuries in the ODI format this year, averaging 48.50 in 19 ODI matches averages 53.00 in the 18 matches he has played at No.5. However, many experts have argued that KL Rahul is the ‘bigger name’ and is set to replace Ishan Kishan at the 5th spot.

India squad for Asia Cup match vs Pakistan:

  • Top-order: Rohit Sharma (C), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli
  • Middle-order: Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (W/K)
  • All-rounders: Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel
  • Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah Mohammed Siraj

The India vs Pakistan Super 4 clash for Asia Cup 2023 is set to take place today, September 10, at 3 pm IST, but it is predicted that rain will play the spoilsport for the clash once again.
