In a gesture that defies competition among fast food chains, the UK arm of the famous fast-food chain Burger King took to social media and shared an advertisement with the title "order from McDonald's". The request has been made to help the restaurants in times of coronavirus when several people are losing their jobs as corporations are incurring losses and are not being able to pay their employees.
In true sportsmanship, it asked customers to order from its competitors such as McDonald's, Pizza Hut, Five Guys, Dominos, among others.
"We never thought we'd be asking you to do this, but restaurants employing thousands of staff really need your support at the moment," Burger King UK tweeted. It urged people to order from various other fast food joints such as Pizza Hut, Five Guys, Greggs, Taco Bell, Papa John, Domino's Pizza, KFC, Subway and Leon.
The COVID-19 pandemic has caused several fast food and restaurant chains run into loses thereby laying-off employees. In times such as this, it is magnanimous of Burger King UK to come in support of its competitors.
"So, if you want to help, keep treating yourself to tasty meals through home delivery, takeaway or drive thru," Burger King UK tweeted.
"Getting a Whopper is always best, but ordering a Big Mac is also not such a bad thing," the tweet concluded on a lighter note.
We know, we never thought we’d be saying this either. pic.twitter.com/cVRMSLSDq6
