honest Tax Payers today in the national capital.
Jaitley will be giving away 'Certificates of Appreciation' to honest taxpayers, it said.
The government has been very stringent and persistent in its quest for brining down tax evasion in the country and brining stowed away undeclared income into the books.
The government has been sending out e-mails and SMSes reminding citizens to file their tax returns on time. It has also been aggressively pushing the one-time amnesty-like black money compliance window encouraging people to declare their undisclosed income to avoid punitive measures. The government has been assuring people that the information disclosed under the income declaration scheme, will be confidential.
