After Kangana Ranaut, Vir Das has also reacted to an old report claiming that the actress bit him during a kissing scene in the 2014 film Revolver Rani.
Vir Das has done a few films in his career as a performer, many in supporting and a few as leads as well. One of those few films where the comedian starred in a lead role was the 2014 comedy Revolver Rani, where he starred alongside Kangana Ranaut. While the Sai Kabir film was not a great success, it was in headlines again recently after a report resurfaced claiming that Kangana kissed Vir so hard during a scene that his lips bled.
Last month, Kanagana took to her social media sharing the news story and poked fun at it. In a recent conversation with DNA, Vir addressed that story resurfacing and expressed surprise about it, saying, “That is like a 10 year old PR story or something like that. The movie came out then. That came up right now?”
In July, Kangana had shared the story with the headline ‘When Kangana Ranaut allegedly got carried away while kissing Vir Das so much so that she ended up making his lips bleed’ on her Instagram Stories. Alongside, she wrote a sarcastic statement: “Hrithik Roshan ke baad maine vichare Vir Das ki izzat loot li (After Hrithik Roshan I assaulted poor Vir Das)?? Yeh kab hua (When did that happen)??.”
Referring to the story itself, Vir said, tongue firmly in cheek “At no point am I surprised about what gets published in a newspaper or on social media. I kind of roll with the punches.” But he did add that his response to it was the same as Kangana’s. He added, “I have the same response that she does for this: Why now and what the hell?”
Helmed by Sai Kabir, Revolver Rani stars Kangana, Vir, Piyush Mishra, Zakir Hussain, and Kumud Mishra among others. The action drama revolved around the story of a politician who falls in love with a Bollywood star (played by Vir).
Vir Das is soon embarking upon a world tour. The Mindfool tour will see the comic performing across some iconic venues in various countries and is being described as the biggest world tour by an Indian comic.
