Tanvi Shah, who is the first and the only woman to win the Grammy Award, for her Spanish lyrics for the song Jai Ho in Slumdog Millionaire, is set to host an event called First Lady. It is being organised by the Ministry of Women and Child Development and is spearheaded by Maneka Gandhi. To be held at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi, on January 20, it’s an initiative to recognise women who had the courage to tread unusual paths and succeeded in being ‘firsts’ in their respective fields. Quite a feat for the young singer, who debuted with the song Fanaa for Mani Ratnam’s film Yuva.
