Two scientists from the National Chemical Laboratory GJ Sanjayan and BLV Prasad have been selected as the contenders for Chemical Research Society of India (CRSI) bronze medal in recognition to their contributions to research in chemistry.

Dr Sanjayan has done his research in Peptides, which are essential molecules in human body. Sanjayan said, “This is major drug research which can be used for blood pressure, cardiovascular diseases and many other bio-medical applications.”

Dr Prasad, on the other hand, works in material science. Prasad said, ‘It is necessary to have research in the field of nano technology, as it might be required on a large scale in the future.”
