With the traditional methods of evaluation through written tests taking a backseat in central and state board schools, teacher training schools are now preparing themselves for the new-age Continuous and Comprehensive Evaluation (CCE).

The CCE process is now mandatory in schools across the city, and B Ed schools are taking extra efforts to train their candidates in the new methodology.

Mintu Sinha, principal of the Bombay Teacher Training School, said, “Several reforms are being introduced in the school education scenario this year, both at state and central level. Teachers are now supposed to be good even in interpersonal skills; classroom activities are not restricted to teaching lessons. A teacher is expected to observe students and also evaluate psychological aspects, not just written tests.”
