WWE Hell in a Cell took place at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, earlier this morning.

Here are the important results and takeaways from the event.

1) Brock Lesnar v/s Undertaker: It is clear that WWE want to book Lesnar as strong as possible. Following this event, he is yet to be legitimately beat ever since his destruction of the Undertaker at Wrestlemania 30. At HIAC, Brock Lesnar and Undertaker competed in a cell in one of the most brutal matches of the PG era. Undertaker seems to have bled too. While the match was a classic, Lesnar ended up the winner, brutally F5-ing Undertaker onto exposed wood in the ring to continue his domination.

It was intuitively the right result and now posits Lesnar as a real challenger for the World Title at Wrestlemania 32.

Meanwhile, Undertaker was set upon by the Wyatt family following the match. Remember, Undertaker defeated Bray Wyatt at Wrestlemania this year to improve his record to 22-1. So we now know the next Undertaker feud. Will he then have a match at Survivor Series, or wait until Wrestlemania 32 to get his hands on the Wyatts? How about Braun Strowman v/s Undertaker? A lot of interesting possibilities have arisen here.

2) Seth Rollins v/s Demon Kane (WWE World Title): Demon Kane was beaten, with no interference from anyone of the Authority. This is a little disappointing, because Demon Kane was booked as this crazy alter-ego of Corporate Kane from the past. Suddenly, the Demon has been reduced to mortal status. For Seth Rollins though, the win marks another step in legitimising himself as a credible champions. Or so Vince McMahon thinks, because a few months ago he was worried that Rollins was not being seen as a credible champion, thanks to the way he won his matches.

What does this mean for Kane? Corporate Kane will be fired on RAW in all possibility, and the 'old Kane' will return. This storyline, which I loved so much, is dead now. Demon Kane will re-enter some inconsequential mid card feud with a random wrestler after his brief feud with the Authority is over.

But this leaves out the possibility of Demon Kane costing Seth Rollins the WWE World Title at some point. That's the whole point of this feud, right?

3) John Cena v/s ??? (WWE US Title): The mystery opponent turned out to be Alberto Del Rio, returning after being fired a year ago, and receiving a big ovation in the process. What's more, he won clean! I understand the prestige WWE wants to attach to the US Title, making it the No 2 title in the company, but a clean ADR win was a bit too much given the stature of Cena - who is now taking time off. How far will ADR rise? Will he just hold the US title or go on to win the WWE World Title again? I think the former is more likely.

4) Roman Reigns v/s Bray Wyatt: This was an absolutely terrific match which Roman Reigns needed to win, and he did. Reigns did get booed a bit though - which might still jeopardise his rumoured ascension to the top of the WWE food chain.

On a related note - do we have a Reigns-Dean Ambrose feud coming up? Ambrose seems increasingly sycophantic these days, he was not on the card and he is due for a heel turn.

The other results included the New Day beating the Dudley Boyz for the WWE Tag Titles, Cesaro, Neville and Dolph Ziggler beating Sheamus, King Barrett and Rusev, Charlotte beating Nikki Bella for the Divas Title, and Kevin Owens beating Ryback clean for the Intercontinental Title.

Overall, the event seems to have exceeded expectations, and we now look forward to Monday Night RAW.

The show will be telecast on Ten Sports at 6 pm IST on Monday.
