Bitter fight over Panduranga Atahavale's legacy worth crores led to Trivedi's murder

AHMEDABAD: Eighteen days after the brutal murder of NRI Pankaj Trivedi who dared to speak up against 'Didi' Jayshree Talvalkar who heads 'Swadhyaya Pariwar', police arrested five of Pariwar's followers for the murder.

The Ahmedabad police claims that all the accused have confessed to have murdered Trivedi, who according to them was damaging the Pariwar. They murdered Trivedi on June 15 night outside Ellisbridge Gymkhana club in the city. However, police said that these five are just the instruments of murder and only further interrogation  will reveal the masterminds of the murder.

The five accused are Mansinh Arjansinh Vadher, Chandrasinh Manubha, Bhupatsinh Narubha Jadeja, Dakshesh Haumukh Shah and Hiteshsinh Rameshsinh Chudasama. Police claimed that the five  were present at the crime scene and Mansinh and Bhupatsinh thrashed Trivedi to death when he came out of the club. "These five had hatched a plan one and a half month ago to kill Trivedi. On the morning of June 15, as the trio arrived in Ahmedabad, they were given local support by Dakshesh Shah and Hiteshsinh Chudasama. At around 8:30 pm that day, they attacked him. Mansinh Vadher and Bhupatsinh Jadeja attacked Trivedi with a steel pipe and a baseball bat when he was opening the door of his car," city Joint Commissioner of Police PK Jha told DNA.
