The India Weather Department (IMD) has predicted very heavy rains in Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalaya West Bengal & Sikkim, Bihar, Assam and Meghalaya till 23 August. 

The weather department has predicted rainfall throughout east and northeast India. Furthermore, it stated that over Gujarat and southern Peninsular India, moderate rainfall is predicted to persist for the next three to five days. 

According to HR Biswas, an IMD scientist, a thunderstorm is predicted to pick up over North Odisha starting on August 23. 

According to the Meteorological Centre Shimla, light to moderate amounts of rain is expected in many locations throughout some districts of Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rains that have recently descended on the state's rugged terrain have caused flash floods and landslides.  

Till August 23, this weather is predicted to dominate in West Uttar Pradesh. This week, there may be light to moderate isolated or scattered rainfall throughout the rest of northwest India.

East India: Light to moderately heavy scattered to widespread precipitation activity is likely across Odisha on August 19 and 21, over Jharkhand today, over Bihar from August 21 to 23, and over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim on August 21 to 23.

Northeast India: From tomorrow through August 23, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are anticipated to see light to moderate scattered to very widespread rainfall, thunderstorms, and lightning, with isolated heavy rainfall.
