Maharashtra: 6 killed, 43 injured in bus accident in Palghar, PM Modi expresses grief

The tourist bus was travelling from Shirdi shrine in Maharashtra to Mahalakshmi temple located Dahanu region of Palghar district. The bus reportedly veered off the road due to brake failure and skidded into the thorny bushes.

At least 6 people died and 43 were injured in a bus accident here on Sunday. The accident took place near Trimbakeshwar road in Palghar district.

The tourist bus was travelling from Shirdi shrine in Maharashtra to Mahalakshmi temple located Dahanu region of Palghar district. The bus reportedly veered off the road due to brake failure and skidded into the thorny bushes.

The injured have been rushed to a hospital. Further investigation is underway. 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his grief on the incident and said, "The bus accident in Maharashtra’s Palghar is unfortunate. My thoughts are with the bereaved families and prayers with those injured. The Maharashtra Government will provide all possible assistance to those affected."
