Insiders in the film industry suggest that Tollywood actor Samantha has replaced Sameera Reddy as the film-maker’s favourite.
We all know that actor Samantha’s become quite the sought after heroine in Tollywood after she tasted success with her debut. She entered the industry through Gautham Menon’s Ye Maaya Chesave, which went on to become a runaway success. The actor’s always maintained that she really owed her debut film’s director a lot.
Samantha even essayed a cameo in the director’s next. Now, she’s ended up bagging the best deal from Gautham as she’s cast in all three versions of his next project. An insider says, “This film will be another breezy entertainer, much like Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya and Ye Maaya Chesave. The film will take off shortly, the promo shoots for the films are currently underway.”
The source further adds, “The film is going to be made simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. While Jiiva will play the lead in the Tamil version, the Telugu and Hindi versions will have Ram and Aditya Roy Kapoor respectively. This is a first of its kind deal for a heroine from the south.”
In fact, the source also informs us that the famed director, who’s currently making the Hindi version of Vinnaithandi Varuvaaya, will take on the project the moment he’s done with his current one.
And we also hear that the director did not really think twice about casting Samantha as opposed to his other favourite, actor Sameera Reddy, with whom he’s worked in multiple projects. And we hear Sameera’s name wasn’t considered seriously during the discussions either.
“It was clearly seen that Gautham had his mind set on casting Samantha in all three versions. She currently ranks high when it comes to his favourite heroines in the industry and his decision to cast her in a cameo in his previous film obviously shows that,” says our source, who predicts that the storyline of this film will definitely showcase another aspect to Gautham’s personality.
