Emraan Hashmi recently turned producer with Captain Nawab, directed by Tony D’Souza. The actor starts prepping for the role next month, which sees him play an Army man for the first time.

Of his role, Emi says, “It’s a physically demanding role and will require a certain form of military training for at least a couple of months and I am very clear what that will be. I plan to undergo a bootcamp-style workshop, too, which includes learning how to use rifles and guns.” But, he adds, “The most important aspect of the film is the scripting. If I am not happy with it, even if it takes six months, I won’t start the film till we get the flow right.”

He says he will need help, adding “Captain Nawab requires a certain body language, so that I look authentic.  If it’s not, my role won’t come across as convincing. I do require someone from the Army to train me for the role and once we are done with the script, we will formally approach the right people.”

He says the new role will require a regimen change. “Currently, I am shooting only for Badshaaho, where I require a certain physicality. I just needed to get into shape and be fit so currently I am doing cardio and weight training. I don’t like to look bulky, but lean on screen,” he reveals.

He will be occupied in prep for the film. He says, “That training will go on for months before I actually get down to shooting. I will start once I’m done with Badshaaho. Also, next month I have some free time, so I can start training. So, I guess I’ll dive completely into training around December.”
