Actress Deepika Padukone is very keen to follow in her dad’s footsteps and start an organisation that supports young sporting talent. “My dad is a part of an organisation that supports young talent by funding them to hone their skills. I want to start something like that and help some people in whatever little way possible. Supporting sports people is on my mind as of now,” Deepika told After Hrs on the sidelines of a promotional event for watch brand Tissot.

Deepika has also been making news with the industry grapevine abuzz with the rumour that she is reportedly having problems with boyfriend Ranbir and Katrina Kaif’s ‘growing friendship’. She apparently had a tiff with him too. “There’s no trouble in paradise. I don’t know of any tiffs between us. This is really strange,” Deepika clarifies, laughing.

According to reports, actresses are always engaged in a bitter struggle to become numero uno, with tension and insecurity rife in the air. “I don’t play games,” she clarifies. “I just concentrate on doing my work well and enjoy it, because I have realised that the day I get into the whole competition space and who’s better and who’s doing which film and why did I not do this film, I’m going to stop enjoying my work. In the creative field, it is very important to be passionate about your work. Everything else will follow. That’s what my father has taught me,” she says.

But what does this sassy heroine do when her movie fails to make an impact like Chandni Chowk to China? “I don’t lock myself up and cry, but yes, I am very disappointed. We all work very hard for any film. Much of our life goes into making a film,” she says.
