With his latest film 'Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran', the actor has also turned producer.
Vishnu Vishal's last four films have been critically acclaimed and been lauded by the audience. With his latest film 'Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran, the actor has also turned producer. His maiden production venture stars Vishnu Vishal with Nikki Galrani, Soori, Robo Shankar and is said to be a total laugh riot.
Speaking exclusively to dna, Vishnu Vishal says that this movie is meant for the family audience. "Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran is for the family audience and right from the first scene to the last scene, it is going to be a fun adventure for families," explains Vishnu Vishal. "I play Murugan who is the right hand to an MLA played by Robo Shankar. Any work that Murugan does, he always goofs up but he thinks he is the best person to get the work done. Nikki Galrani plays a cop in the film. She is different from this guy."
The actor-producer explains that there will be three parallel stories in the film - one story about him and Nikki, the other about Soori and the third with Robo Shankar. All three are linked but they will be shown parallel in the film. "Robo Shankar has done a good job. In the second half of the film you will see an 18-minute sequence of his which is really good," says Vishnu Vishal.
The last few films of Vishnu Vishal's have been good but the actor believes he needs a superhit. "The last four films of mine have been appreciated but it takes me a year to get a good script and sign a film. I realised that an actor needs a superhit to make a difference in the minds of filmmakers. You can have hits but when you get a superhit, then things change. The audience seems to like action and comedy. I don't think I can do action at this stage in my career so I chose comedy. And I am hoping it clicks with the audience and I deliver a superhit." smiles Vishnu Vishal.
Velainu Vandhutta Vellaikaaran is directed by Ezhil and distributed by Fox Star Studios. Vishnu Vishal also has done something which no other producer has so far - he has invited all the media and their families for a special screening of the film. Going by the trailer, the movie likes it is definitely going to rock the box office!
